What a fantastic kick off to the spring season. On Saturday, March 18, the Serra Crew Team fleeted 12 boats at the Pacific Invite Regatta. For many new athletes who recently joined the team after the conclusion of other Serra sports, this was their first race after only a few weeks of training.
Trading blows with other California club and scholastic teams, Serra had a good showing. The U17 4+ pushed hard and placed second out of six boats. The U17 8+ finished sixth of eight boats. However, compared to other scholastic boats, they placed first of three --30 seconds ahead of other scholastic teams. The Y4+ placed fifth out of eight boats.
With a younger squad and still in a rebuilding phase, this team has endless potential for growth throughout the season.
