Congratulations to Serra's U17 2X Alex Kaiser '24- Stroke, Adrian Panezic '24- Bow, who are pushing on to the US Rowing (US Olympic governing body) Youth Nationals after placing second at Southwest Regionals.
The boys only had a few weeks of training in this boat before regionals and exceeded expectations on all levels with how well they finished.
Mental fortitude, drive and dedication have propelled this boat to greatness. Over the past three weeks, training has been aggressive as we try to squeeze out as much speed as possible. The last two hard double days of practice, Kaiser and Panezic are considered top 23 in the US for their boat/age category. Nationals will give them the chance to fight for that first place spot that would make them the fastest U17 2X in the nation.
Our boys are ready for multiple days of racing at Nationals. The Southwest region is the fastest in the U.S., racing against club teams with 200+ athletes. Serra hasn't attended nationals in at least 7 years.
Go Padres!
