Dr. Dirk Diefendorf has served as the Team Orthopedic Surgeon for Serra for 28 years and has provided on field orthopedic care for all Serra athletes. He completed his undergraduate degree at UCLA and received his MD degree at Northwestern University. He completed his Orthopedic Surgical residency at USC during which time he worked at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic for a 4 month Sports Medicine rotation. He then completed a one year Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute where he specialized in Shoulder and Knee arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is also Board Certified in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. He regularly attends advanced educational courses in Sports Medicine and has been an instructor at many of these courses in the past. He practices Orthopedic Surgery and lives in San Mateo.
